Biography
Steven Jermy is a retired Royal Navy Commodore who served for 28 years, including operational deployments in the Falklands War, the Adriatic during the Bosnian and Kosovo campaigns, and as Strategy Director in the British Embassy in Afghanistan. His sea commands included multiple warships and the 5th Destroyer Squadron.
After retiring from the navy in 2010, Jermy transitioned into the offshore energy sector, serving as CEO of Celtic Sea Power and chairing the Celtic Sea Cluster for floating offshore wind energy. He is the author of Strategy for Action: Using Force Wisely in the 21st Century, a work on defence strategy that draws on his operational experience.
Jermy now writes the Mor Gallos Substack (Cornish for "sea power"), where he applies military-strategic analysis to the Ukraine conflict, Western decision-making failures, and the intersection of energy economics with geopolitics.
